How thrilled we are this season to see such a nice collection of new and special issues for All Hallows eve. When last year, with the magazine industry hurting so bad and with a lot of our favorite magazines closing their doors we were concerned that these wonderful issues would be something in the past. Well hitting the newstands this fall was a great collection of magazine that you all should go out and support. Even though we haven't read each magazine cover to cover YET just browsing them quickly they are all a must have for halloween inspiration. This Phyllis Hoffman publication is new to the bunch. This magazine has beautiful photos, but does focus more on the food and party entertaining part of the holiday.
Mathew Mead is the equvilant to Martha Stewart. This second edition of his magazine has the perfect mix of crafts, food and fun with creative how to projects.
Here is the Queen of everything... Martha Stewart: Halloween always a must have for anyone who enjoys Halloween.
This special Halloween issue of Family Fun magazine with it's beautiful mate cover it definalty the most kids friend and easy how to of the bunch.
I know these final posts are a little late. But with two kids now and with the threat of having a nor'easter storm tomorrow we had to take full advantage of the crisp fall sunny weather. We were in search for some good looking pumpkins for decorating and carving tomorrow night. We weren't able to hit the farms this season so we had to settle for the local florist... not the ideal choice but it will have to do.
after picking the pumpkins we headed to the zoo for the boo at the zoo spooktalutar. The zoo has this fun event for the kids who can dress up in their costumes and trick or treat around the zoo. Even the animals get treats.... This jaguar is really happy because his pumpkin full of mice.
Let’s start this party off right... with a GIVEAWAY!! We will be giving away one of our handmade Halloween ornament to a lucky party goer who leaves a comment on our blog sharing something to do about Halloween (an idea, tip memory... whatever). Then at the end of the party we will pick one winner and send them our Creepy the Spider ornament just in time for Halloween. ~ Goul Luck!!
Creepy the spider was inspired by our little (actually not that little) mascot we have hanging on our window. Really CREEPY!!!

Wow how quickly this fall weather has swooped in. The Halloween season is in full swing and there is so much going on and we just want to make sure we are able to share some of our fun finds with everyone before we jump into the crazy Christmas season. One of those things is Celebrate365 which is the premiere magazine for year round ornament collectors and anyone who loves to celebrate the holidays and collecting whimsical pieces of art. You should check this magazine out. We are excited to be featured in the magazine— showcasing some of our new Halloween designs on the inside as well as on the back cover!
A while back we were approached from a fellow tweeter from twitter who has an online shop called My Shopping Connection, which is an online Galleria filled with unique and interesting product finds. They locate small businesses offering quality merchandise and showcase a few of their finest offerings in a "Our Finds." So we were thrilled to find out that our Happy Halloween Bat is featured in their 2009 Halloween decor collection. Here is a snippet of what they have to say: This adorable handmade polymer clay Halloween ornament is a great choice for ornament collectors. The main part of the ornament features a cute striped pumpkin, glittery flying bats and the message "Happy Halloween." Dangling beneath the ornament is another little bat.
So if you are looking to do some Halloween shopping click on over and take a peak.
Coming this month on Saturday, Oct 17th Swirly Designs is taking part again in another Hauntingly Magical Halloween Blog Party Event.
We participated last year and we had a blast. The event is hosted by a wonderful blog Fanciful Twist. The scoop is on the October 17th a bunch of bloggers will share everything and anything about All Hallows Eve. By sharing great ideas and crafts we help celebrate the second most popular holiday of the year...Halloween.
Last years blog event we posted some of our Halloween collectibles, and a how-to project. It was a spooktacular time. We had a blast and got some great inspiration by visiting all the other blogs that were participating also. So tell your friends and stop on by Saturday Oct 17th for another fanciful and swirly good time.
We are Lianne & Paul Stoddard the artist and creators behind Swirly Designs where our passion for decorating for the holidays inspired us to combine our artistic skills to create our own collection of original handmade polymer clay holiday ornaments.
