We found out this week that another great inspirational magazine is coming to an end with the March 2009 issue: Country Home Magazine
We here at Swirly are sad to see it go and feel bad for all the creative and talented people that are out of work now from this crazy economy we are all in.
We also posted a few months back, that another one of our favorite magazine MEHC has come to a end with the Dec 08/Jan 09 issue. Where is everyone going to find their creative fix?
Let us know if you come across any magazines you find that is a good replacement for those wonderful magazines.
In the meantime, we are busy working on our Valentine collection and trying to put together a fun little how to project for Valentine's day (like our halloween how to) in an upcoming post.
Have a fun weekend!

Can you believe January is almost half way through? Some places are knee deep in snow. Well we here at Swirly we are knee deep in LOVE (okay we have snow too...8- 10 inches fell over the weekend).
With the launch of our 2009 Valentine collection coming Feb 2 the studio quickly switched gears. We went from greens and reds to pinks and reds. The pine trees were put away and the silver tinsel trees we up. We have been very busy creating some lovely new designs this season and bringing back some of your favorites this year.
Since we didn't have our blog launched during Valentines last year, we thought we would share some of our photos from our 2008 collection to get everyone in the loving spirit:
Waiting for these hearts to dry so we an add embellishments to them..like glitter.
Check out the beautiful swirls on this pale heart... all done by hand
Here are some nice close ups to show detail

We hope everyone has recovered from the holidays and is back in full swing.
We sure are! What we like to do at the end of the year is reflect on our designs and go over all our collections that we launched in 2008 and see how everything went. We like to see which ornaments were well received and which ones need some tweeking.
We track the success of our advertising to see which ad drew the most attention. And this week we got a traffic report chart showing how many hits our website has been getting. In November, our website had 244, 783 requests, and for the year our monthly average is approx 80,000 requests. Now we are no website experts and we know there are websites that get a million hits a day, BUT for a small company like us that has had a web presents for only a few years, we were thrilled with the report.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend!
