Our First Reading Fall Street Faire

Hello Friends! Swirly participated in our first Fall Street Faire in our hometown a few weeks ago.

We visit the event every year with the kids and always left saying "Gee, next year we should get a booth and give it a try". Well, things happen and we always seem forget to register. :-(

This year, however, we remembered! And we're glad we did. The weather was sunny and pleasant, which brought in the crowds. The event organizer estimated approx 10,000 people visited this one day event, choc full of local businesses. Having two kids in the school system here, we were visited by many of our school friends, parents, teachers and neighbors. It was funny that they were all kind of surprised and a little puzzled to actually see what we make and do for a living. I guess we aren't the heaviest self promoters of what we do when socializing with our community.

Crowds of people roam the streets visiting and supporting the community.
Our booth is all set up and ready. (It was quite windy that day, so our table cloths were blowing)
Our two Swirly Helpers manning the booth.
A framed process helps explain what polymer clay is and how we make our Swirlies.

All and all it was a fun day. Having our kids join us for a large part of the day helping pass out business cards was great. And when the event was over and the car was packed up it was especially nice to know we were only a 5 minute car ride home!

Where is our Halloween update?

Next week is the start of Autumn. The kids have returned to school, the days are getting cooler and we are busy gearing up for the upcoming Holiday season.

However, we are usually gearing up and preparing for our BIG Swirly Halloween launch right about now...BUT after much debate (well, as much as two people can have:) we decided we weren't going to do a large Halloween/Autumn collection launch this year. Boo!Hiss! I know! Instead we are focusing more on our very popular Christmas collection.

We didn't want to totally pass by one of our favorite Holiday seasons without some acknowledgment, so to celebrate, we have updated our Autumn & Halloween ornament section in our shop with some of our favorite Swirly Designs. And if you are on our mailing list you will have an opportunity to order a special Halloween and/or Autumn Swirly ornament set coming shortly. So be on the look out for that.

Hope you are enjoying the season! Happy Autumn!

Are you on Instagram? We would love for you to follow us. We post almost daily on what we are up to in the studio, interesting craft finds and sometimes a glimpse into our family life.

Swirling into Autumn

The Fall season is upon us and this quartet is perfect to celebrate the season with the apple, mushroom, leaf imagery. The scalloped edges are glittered with a vibrant orange glitter.
Celebrate apple-picking season with our newest ornament.
A bright green apple tree is embellished with tiny red seed beads

A ghost and a pumpkin make up this quartet, along with candy corn and a lollipop.

Based on our popular Home for Holidays house, this autumn themed ornament has rich colors of oranges and reds while glitter makes it shimmer.

A spooky glow-in-the-dark skull is encased in a wire cage with a black grow for company.

Whooo loves the fall! Our Swirly owl does, that’s who.

These 3 mini swirly ghosts are floating around again this season.

Inspired by vintage papier mache treat bags, ours doesn’t hold treats but sure will make you smile with it’s bright colors and tinsel handle.

How do you like these apples? A sweet pair of luscious apples ready for picking!

One of our newest 3D mixed materials ornament is this pumpkin who likes candy!
Made with ultra light clay, color wire, tinsel glitter, cupcake cup and paper.

Who’s in the tree? Mr. Gray squirrel is hanging out in our swirly tree, holding a paper leaf as an acorn dangles below. A green chiffon ribbon (which was chosen from our Facebook fans!)
finishes off this ornament.
Gobble Gobble! Our swirly turkey is not just for Thanksgiving!
Decorate your fall tree with a few of these great birds!

HAPPY AUTUMN EVERYONE!
