  2. Oh wow! What a precious little treat box!! My favorite Halloween memories include helping my kids make their own Halloween costumes. Our budget was $5 per kid, and the fun part was trying to create unique costumes using things we already had on hand. Always a challenge and what a blast seeing how creative they could be!!

  3. That is tooo cute! I love Halloween and can't wait to dress up our baby girl, as it's her first Halloween this year (she's 3 months old). My favorite thing about Halloween, to be honest, is the CANDY (okay let's be real, it's the chocolate). For some fun Halloween party inspiration, feel free to visit my blog:

  8. Fantastic giveaway! My favorite Halloween memory goes to the popcorn balls that I used to make with my mom. Kids in our neighborhood used to change costumes and come back, just to get more! This was of course many years ago in a small town, and homemade treats were ok. Thanks for a chance to win and remenisce.

  10. I remember back in the 80's when pop rocks were very popular, there was a house in our neighborhood giving out BOXES (not packets) of them. We went home, put on different costumes and went and get more (I know...not nice). Turned out we didn't need to go to all that trouble because someone different answered the door!

  12. My favorite Halloween costume ever: I made a crown out of fresh candy corn glued to a plastic sun visor, Then I turned it backwards, like a headband. I dressed as "Queen of Candy Corn."

  15. I love that little box! It reminds me of those old-fashioned Halloween decorations that you now see in antiques stores for a small fortune. Luckily for us, we have Swirly Design ornaments which are high quality and long-lasting! I love hanging them all around my kitchen to decorate them with!

  18. My favorite Halloween memory was the night that I met my husband. I was trick or treating with my then 12 year old daughter and her three friends in 2001. My costume was that of a striped cat complete with face painting (Fountain of youth tip - paint dark stripes in your smile lines/wrinkles and they disappear!) My daughter's friend Lori went as a dork. Cute costume with incredibly perfect clothing.

Lori kept telling me that I should email her Dad some funny jokes as he was lonesome and a gentleman. Hmmm...I asked, did he wear that Dilbert tie that she had on? Oh sure, she replied- it came right out of his closet.

Of course we ended up going to her house and standing there in the doorway was the most handsome, tall, gentle, man I have ever laid eyes on- giving out full sized Reeses cups no less! Perfect in every way! The earth truly moved that night.

We were a couple by Thanksgiving and married a year later. Our daughters are already seniors in college this year! Life is fantastic! We have never had a fight and run full speed into the rest of our days!

  19. My favorite Halloween tradition is pumpkin carving a week before the big day with one of our favorite families of friends. I should probably schedule that soon, eh? The box is adorable. Great job!

  22. Happy Halloween Blog Party! I'd love to be entered into your competition, that treat box is so lovely!

Halloween is my favourite holiday but noone in England seems to celebrate it...except me! This will be my last Halloween in England though as I'll be moving to America very soon. I hold a party every year and am really looking forward to hosting one in the US, where Halloween seems to be a much bigger deal :)

As far as ideas and tips go, I've done all sorts of strange things with food over the years lol! Like making a jelly hand by pouring the gelatine into a rubber glove. That works great with red jelly and then chop into the "wrist" to make it look severed.

Another one is hollow out a pumpkin so that your (glass) punch bowl will fit into it. Put some glowsticks inside the pumpkin, underneath the punchbowl (NOT inside it), then fill the bowl up and you'll have glowing punch :)

This has been my first ever blog party but I've had so much fun visiting everyone so far!

  24. Your ornaments gave me the idea of starting a Halloween tree this year. The 4 I ordered were the first to hang. A few others that I've made hang along side them, with more planned for the future! Thank you so much! Halloween is my favorite time of the year and I deck out my house with all sorts of ghoulish accessories. This Halloween treat box would be a wonderful addition to my collection.

  28. I love the jack-o-lantern treat box. Your designs are always so adorable.
My favorite Halloween memory would have to be from 1986.
I was invited to a Coast Guard Halloween party by some nursing school friends. I dressed up as Mickey Mouse and headed to the party after my shift at the pediatrician's office. A nice guy asked me to dance and little did I know I would marry him 3 yrs. later!!
One tradition we have is making a "Haunted Porch" for our trick-or-treaters. This year we are adding some special effects cooked up by our tech-savvy teens. Look out for flying ghosts and witch crashes!!

  29. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Halloween! This year, for my son's 8th birthday Halloween party we used black & orange food markers to draw funny & spooky Halloween faces on marshmallows. I then put a wooden skewer (of various sizes) through the marshmallow. The marshmallows were displayed on a Styrofoam board covered in black crepe paper. The marshmallows were a huge hit with the kids! This could also be a fun activity for a group of children if you bought several food markers and let them decorate the marshmallows. Fun stuff!

  36. I love your designs! I purchased the "Fall" pumpkin design for a friend and she absolutely loved it. So far I have purchased several of your fantastic creations and I have yet to keep one for myself. I would love to win the cute treat box! My favorite thing about Halloween is giving treats to the kids that come around, which always remind me of my own sons when they were small. The photos that I have of my sons on Halloween bring back all of the wonderful memories of when they were young.

  37. I love using cheesecloth...to age it. make a pot of tea or coffee, pour it into a large enough bowl, and place the cheesecloth in the bowl and swirl it on and off over several hours, and then gently ring out. you can rinse if you like, you do not have to.

    Thank you :)

    Peace,
    Susan

  39. My daughter will be two in February and this will be our first "real" halloween. We've been teaching her to say Trick-or-Treat and we've just about got it. I can't wait to see the look on everyone's faces when this adorable pink poodle come to their door and says "Twick-or-Tweet"!

I love your ornaments and was very excited to see you in Holiday Crafts this month. Keep up the great work!

  41. My best Halloween was last year when I was trick or treating with my family in Massachusetts. It was a little bit windy, the trees were mostly bare with big brown leaves blowing across the ground and the branches creaking over head. There were real spider webs in every window (outside, of course)with these sizable and creepy arachnids. There was a big moon with sparse clouds blowing quickly past and there were even bats flying overhead. You see, I'm from California, and if we're lucky, it will be a little damp, but nothing to evoke the spooky sensations I felt last year. Now I know what Halloween is all about.
